Shane Simmons

After working nearly a decade in the banking industry, Shane Simmons knew he was ready for a change. While he enjoyed managing bank customer relationships, it was the insurance and investment part of his job that intrigued him the most. To learn more about the insurance world and better serve his banking clients, Shane pursued and earned his insurance agent licensing in 2006.

From there, it was time to make the jump from banking to insurance. He founded Jefferson Insurance Group in 2009 as a one-person office.

As a former nuclear weapons specialist in the U.S. Army, Shane knows the importance of dedication and commitment. Through hard work and persistence, he grew his agency to the four-person team it is today.

As president of Jefferson Insurance Group, Shane focuses primarily on Medicare planning; life insurance and long-term care planning; and financial planning. He believes each client deserves the very best service – no matter how large or small the need. He focuses on providing personalized service to meet each client's particular needs, and enjoys learning new skills along the way.

Shane has earned numerous awards throughout the years, including Agency Building General Agent (ABGA) Producer in 2017 for Lincoln Financial and Top Producer for The Cason Group in 2012. He was a Premier Partner with Lincoln Financial from 2010-2021.

Shane and his wife, Kim, are natives of Ashe County and live in Jefferson. Second to insurance, Shane's passion is golf.
